ALL IS QUIET! Carolina Hurricanes Staying Pat on Day 1 of NHL Free Agency
After the first day of the NHL Free Agency, the Carolina Hurricanes remained relatively quiet when it came to moves. The defending Stanley Cup champions have 98% of their roster signed through next season, so it makes sense why they won't make many moves on Day 1. That said, what stood out? On the Thursday Edition of Locked On Hurricanes, Zach begins the show by sharing his thoughts on how the Hurricanes stayed quiet on Day 1 of free agency. While there was some noise around John Carlson and Alexander Nikishin, nothing came on that front. Furthermore, the Hurricanes don't need to make moves as of right now, with them having most of their Stanley Cup team signed in 2026-27. Secondly, the Hurricanes do see Domenick Fensore and Ryan Suzuki move on to other teams after spending some time within the organization.
