After a wild Tuesday of trades, it seems like the NHL is not slowing down as more trades went down on Wednesday. Despite the Washington Capitals getting Alex Tuch, the Carolina Hurricanes are still in a great spot. That said, they have cropped up in trade rumors regarding Alexander Nikishin. Does it mean anything? On the Thursday Edition of Locked On Hurricanes, Zach begins the show by sharing his thoughts on the Nikishin trade rumor situation. Darren Dreger posted on X/Twitter that the Hurricanes are hearing interest from teams about the young Russian defenseman, who just won the Stanley Cup. Taking interest doesn't mean that they will trade him away. Does it make sense to move on from him? Secondly, the Hurricanes announced on Wednesday night that they extended Jusso Valimaki to a one-year, $900,000 deal to keep him in the organization after acquiring him last season from the Utah Mammoth. He played a big role for the Chicago Wolves last season in the AHL, en route to a Calder Cup Final appearance. What does it mean moving forward?
