#26 100 years of Roadside Assistance: Four RAC Patrols share their stories

May 24, 2026 · 71 min

On this episode of the Horizons by RAC Podcast, four roadside assistance Patrols come together to celebrate a century of helping West Australians when they need it most, and the stories they share prove RAC’s Roadside Assistance has always been about far more than fixing cars.

Malcolm, April, Richard and Sean have spent decades on WA roads, from Perth’s busiest freeways to remote country backroads around Albany. While the vehicles, technology and uniforms have changed over the years one thing hasn’t: the job is ultimately about helping people through stressful moments.

This episode is filled with stories that capture the unpredictable nature of Patrol work, in celebration of RACWA Roadside Assistance's 100th birthday.
